Cloud Sharing

Preview and play scores—anywhere, on any device

Sibelius | Cloud Sharing makes it easy to share scores in the cloud and invite others to view, hear, and review your work. You can share scores privately with anyone or post your work on your website and on social media for the world to hear. All you need is Sibelius and an Internet connection.

Share scores with a click

Ready to share your work? Simply click the Share button in Sibelius to send your score to the cloud and generate a unique URL that links to it, which you can then share with others or embed in a webpage. Any changes you make to the score can also be pushed online to share. Change your mind? Just click Stop Sharing to disable the link.

See and hear it in action

Once you’ve shared your score—either as a direct link, on a webpage, or through social media—viewers can then interact with your music in a variety of ways. Test-drive it out for yourself using the example. Click play to take a listen. Drag the timeline indicator to jump to another part of the score. Though disabled in this small sampling, Sibelius | Cloud Sharing will enable you to flip through pages and make comments directly on the score too.

Expand your space with Avid Premium Cloud Plans

All versions of Sibelius enable you to share scores in the cloud. Share up to 10 with Sibelius | First, up to 20 with Sibelius, and an unlimited number—up to 1 GB of cloud storage—with Sibelius | Ultimate.

Get easy access to the world’s best-selling music notation tool

In addition to Sibelius being available to own and upgrade as before, you can now subscribe on a low-cost monthly or annual basis, enabling you to access the latest version of the software affordably at any time and pay only when you need it. And you’ll have access to all future Sibelius updates and upgrades as soon as they’re available through the included Avid upgrade plan, as well as to expert help.

Write music on a Surface Pro, or edit on your iPad with Sibelius Mobile

Sibelius has been optimized for the Microsoft Surface Pro tablet, enabling you to add and edit notes quickly with just a tap of the pen, as well as play music in real time using the tablet’s onscreen keyboard and fretboard. Use the Surface Pen’s buttons to select, erase and edit your music. You can even drag the score around and resize objects while inputting notes. Or, install Sibelius Mobile on your iPad and use the apple pen to write or edit music on stage, then get the updated music straight to the players.

Add notes and comments directly on the score

With the new Annotate feature, you can create reminders for yourself about music changes as you’re composing, or communicate edits and feedback to others, streamlining collaboration and review. Draw directly on the score using a mouse, trackpad, USB tablet, or Surface Pro 3 Pen. Circle items and write or type comments or instructions to arrangers, players, or students. Because annotations are grouped intelligently and always attached to the bar you add them to, you needn’t worry about losing your notes. Plus, annotations can be switched off so they don’t appear when printing.

Interact with scores using multi-touch gestures

If you’re working on a laptop with a trackpad or using a Surface Pro, you can quickly zoom in and out of your score by simply using a pinch-zoom gesture, making navigation and editing easier. You can even set predefined zoom levels to zoom in and out with a quick double-tap.

Get up and running faster than ever

We’ve revamped and simplified the entire Sibelius activation process so you can quickly start using the software and easily move to a different computer. No longer do you have to use a serial number, System ID, or Activation ID to activate, deactivate, and reactivate Sibelius whenever you want to switch computers; now you can activate Sibelius on any computer by simply signing in to your Avid Master Account. Plus, you’ll get access to support, downloads, and your Avid Marketplace account once you do.

Work faster and see more detailed beauty on Windows

For Windows users, Sibelius features an updated interface and new support for high-resolution displays, enabling you to see every detail of your score in stunning clarity. Plus, gain faster access to the features you need most with new and improved icons that appear in the ribbon and floating windows.

Workflow

Compose and edit

Sibelius is the fastest, smartest, easiest way to create and edit musical scores. Sibelius delivers revolutionary, time-saving features like Magnetic Layout, Dynamic Parts, and the Timeline window—plus a powerful creative toolset including Flexi-time MIDI input, Keyboard and Fretboard windows, and a variety of other input options. With all this functionality and more, Sibelius empowers you to create incredibly complex scores quickly.

Play, perform, and share

In addition to creating and editing, Sibelius makes it easy to play back your scores with stunning realism. The massive included Sibelius Sounds library gives you immediate access to a wide range of professional-quality instruments. If you want even more great sounds, Sibelius supports VST and AU plug-ins, giving you access to third-party sample libraries. You can also sync Sibelius with other popular audio software—such as Pro Tools—via ReWire.

Layout, export, and print

Create beautiful, professional-looking scores easily using a full accompaniment of desktop publishing tools. Perfect text with tracking, leading, and other typography tools. Add graphics using drag-and-drop. And easily export publisher-quality scores as PDFs with just one click.

Special notations

Sibelius lets you produce scores so stunning, they’re virtually works of art. Slurs are the most beautiful and controllable of any program. Stemlets and beamed rests can be added and positioned instantly, as can arpeggio lines. Sibelius will even include cautionary accidentals automatically—helping you to produce performance-ready scores every time.
